Learning a musical instrument comes with many benefits. It has been proven to have a dramatic impact on your brain's structure and can enhance spatial reasoning, memory and language skills. Research has shown that learning a musical instrument has long-term benefits, especially if learning commences at an early age, although learners of all ages can benefit.

Gareth is a passionate educator, adjudicator and examiner and has a wealth of experience as an instrumental and classroom teacher. In addition to his work as a performer, Gareth has held teaching posts in both private and state sectors across the West Midlands region and has held roles as both a director of academic music as well as a teacher of instrumental music (piano and flute) . Gareth is currently a senior examiner of the performance component for A Level music and he a member of the grade examination panel for music with Trinity College, London

Gareth offers private flute and piano lessons from his busy private practice in Moseley, Birmingham (B13). He takes a student-centred approach to his teaching and welcomes new and enthusiastic students of all ages and abilities.
